March 20, 2009   Dear brothers and sisters

Please be informed that Vladyka Andronik is now confirmed to be with us at St. Xenia Cathedral from Saturday 29 March to Monday 30 March, when he will be administering the sacrament of Holy Unction at 6:30 pm.. He is unable to be with us this weekend.

Also, as a reminder, a Parental Remembrance Divine Liturgy will be served this Saturday, 21 March at 09:00 am. There will be no service Friday evening 20 March.

An updated March 2009 schedule of services will be available on the parish Website shortly and distributed at Church this weekend.

February 25, 2009   Dear brothers and sisters,

Mrs. Maria Lagodich, mother of Rev. George Lagodich, peacefully reposed to the Lord last night, February 22, 2009. Long time parishionner, Mrs. Lagodich was at one time at the head of the Sisterhood of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Montreal.

A 1st Panihida service will take place this evening, February 23 at 07:00pm at the Cathedral.

A 2nd Panihida service will take place tomorrow evening, February 24, at 07:00pm.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday evening, February 25, at 07:00pm.

On Thursday, February 26, the body will be taken from the Cathedral at 09:00am to be brought to Rawdon for burial.

A wake luncheon will be then held at the cathedral at 12:30pm.

January 16, 2009   To reconfirm, Archbishop Andronik will return to St. Xenia Cathedral between 16-22 January and will be presiding at this weekend's Vigil and Divine Liturgy as well as the Sunday 18 January Vigil, Monday 19 January Divine Liturgy as well as the Great Blessing of Waters for Theophany. For more details, please consult the January schedule on our Web site. If anyone would like to meet with the Bishop please contact Fr. Arseny at 613. 599.9367.

As well, Vladyka is escorting our new priest, Fr. Oleg Mironov, who arrived yesterday from our parish in Vorenezh, Russia. A number of parishioners had the opportunity to meet Fr. Oleg when he was at St. Xenia where he served our Moleben to the recently beautified St. Philaret as well as participate in a discussion with Archbishops Andronik, Sofroniy and other clergy.  Fr. Oleg will be followed later this year by his Matushka and four children.

At the same time, we are bidding farewell, thank you and Many Years to Fr. Arseny Man'ko for taking care of the parish during the past few months. Fr Arseny will be returning to New York with Vladyka after the 22 January.

Please make a point of attending the Divine Services over the next few days as well as welcoming Fr. Oleg and wishing well to Fr. Arseny!

September 24, 2008   PATRONAL FEAST DAY - Blessed St. Xenia of Petersburg - SUNDAY, 28 SEPTEMBER 2008

The Church Council extends an invitation to the Canadian Orthodox Community to participate in the Cathedral's Patronal Feast.

Schedule of events:
Saturday, 27 September at 6:00pm - Vigil
Sunday, 28 September at 9:30 am - Liturgy, followed by religious procession and festive luncheon in parish hall.

All services will be presided by His Grace Bishop Andronik, Bishop of Ottawa and North America
