24th Annual MASLENITSA / МАСЛЕНИЦА Carnival – Russian Bliny Brunch

February 23rd, 12:30-3:00pm

Our very popular and lively annual MASLENITSA / МАСЛЕНИЦА Carnival – Russian Bliny Brunch – was held on February 23rd 2014 for the 24th year. This is a festival featuring Russian culinary heritage, art and music, celebrated in the spirit of the traditional pre-Lenten Russian winter carnival called Maslenitsa (or Butter Week). Due to its great popularity, this event was once again SOLD OUT. It was a tremendous success enjoyed by all in attendance! The traditional folk singing and dancing created a festive mood and the delicious food and drinks were immensely enjoyed by all. Thank you to all who attended and, of course, thank you to all the volunteers who contributed in so many ways to the success of this event. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Kanata Food Cupboard.

We look forward to welcoming all those who will attend this late winter event next year!!
